Integration for Slack

An integration with Slack will allow you to send real-time notifications to Slack channels in your company workspace when new interviews are published.

Slack notifications allow you to share win-loss feedback to a wider audience at your company. Even if employees don’t have a Clozd account, they can see win-loss findings in Slack.

If some Slack channels have a specific audience, you can also set filters so that only notifications for specific deals are sent to those channels. For example, if you have a #marketing channel, you can apply a filter so that notifications are sent to that channel only when interviews are published where “Marketing” Decision Drivers were rated.

Slack integration setup

Users

  1. Log in to the Clozd Platform

  2. Select the Organization where you want to add the integration for Slack.

  3. Within that organization, select the Program where you want to add the integration for Slack.

  4. Navigate to your initials in the top-right corner, then click Settings to set up the Slack integration.

  5. Scroll down to the Integrations section, then click Connect to the right of the Slack section.

  6. Click the Add Clozd to Slack button.

  7. You'll see which permissions (the ability to view and post to channels) Clozd requests for your Slack workspace. Click Install Clozd.

  8. After installing the Slack integration, return to your initials in the top-right corner of the Clozd Platform. Scroll down to the Notifications section, then click the toggle under Slack to enable Feedback notifications for your Slack workspace.

To manage the Slack channels you can send notifications to, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Configuration tab.

  2. Click on the Settings tab, then click on the Integrations tab. Locate the Slack integration section, then click Settings.

  3. Click on Add Slack Channel. Select which channel(s) should receive Slack notifications.

  4. If you don't want all published interview notifications to post in a specific channel, set notification criteria by clicking + Add Rule.

    In the example below, only notifications for deals published in the Product category will be sent to the #product Slack channel.

  5. To give Clozd access to private Slack channels:

    Go to the channel's details in Slack. Click Edit settings.

    Find the Integrations tab and click Add an App.

    Note: If you already have other apps added, it will say Add apps.

    Click Add on the right side of the Clozd tile.

  6. You can always edit or remove channels from your Slack integration by clicking the three dots next to each channel and selecting either Edit or Delete. Add additional channels by clicking Add Slack Channel.

  7. A user will only see the Slack channels they have access to. If they do not have access to a channel, it will not appear in the list. However, they will still see the total number of connected channels.

    In the example below, four channels are configured, but only three are visible because one of the configured channels is private.

Once the integration has been completed, the Slack channel notifications will include: 

  • Deal name
  • Associated program
  • Outcome
  • Deal amount
  • Preview of the interview summary
  • "View Full Deal" button

Once any member of the Slack channel clicks on "Read More" or "View Full Deal," they'll be taken to an unauthenticated view of the deal. If the user wants to view any other area of the Clozd Platform, they'll have to log in.

This allows individuals from your organization that may not have access to Clozd to read important win-loss feedback.

 

FAQs

  • What triggers a notification?

Notifications will only be posted to Slack for buyer or sales rep interviews that match the filters you've applied. The Slack integration will not post notifications for buyer surveys or sales rep surveys.
